Course Description
This new one-day course presents an evidence-based approach to Whiplash Associated Disorder (WAD) and integrates CSP WAD guidelines with emerging evidence from contemporary literature. The course is specifically designed for manual therapists involved in the assessment and management of WAD. Like our 'Altered Haemodynamics' course, the emphasis is on clinical reasoning, decision making but with the added dimension of management.
The course navigates the maze of information available to Manual Therapists in this area and demystifies assessment and management whilst allowing the therapist to use the very best of their own skills within the "guidelines and evidence". There is a significant and unique review of cervical artery dysfunction, including the essential component of cranial nerve testing and its relationship to manual therapy in the management of WAD.
The course incorporates advanced rehabilitation for WAD and medico-legal aspects of the approach to treatment and note/report writing. It is suitable for all Manual Therapists who wish to extend and mesh their own skills with the emerging evidence base. Improved clinical reasoning, practical diagnostic and management skills will provide a direct impact on day-to-day clinical practice.
The course will provide a systematic approach to assessment and management will provide the foundation for meaningful, successful and safe practice.
