Alan Taylor MSc MCSP & Roger Kerry MSc MMACP MCSP
Biography:
Alan Taylor graduated from the Nottingham School of Physiotherapy in 1982. A keen sportsman, he successfully combined his early career as a physiotherapist with that of a professional cyclist – completing the Professional Tour of Britain in 1988. Alan gained his Masters degree in Sports Injury and Therapy at the Manchester Metropolitan University in 1998. His subject matter led to a special interest in vascular issues relating to manual therapy. He has worked extensively as a manual therapist in South Africa, New Zealand, and the UK. He currently works as a Physiotherapy Manager at the Nottingham Nuffield Hospital and part time lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. He lectures world wide on sports medicine subjects and altered haemodynamics. He has also authored a number of papers and a forthcoming chapter in Grieves Modern Manual Therapy.
Roger Kerry graduated from Pinderfields School of Physiotherapy and subsequently gained a Masters of Science degree in Manipulative Therapy. He is a member of the MACP and a diplomate of the Cyriax Organisation. Before taking up his current post as a Physiotherapy lecturer and researcher at Nottingham University, Roger worked as an extended scope practitioner in Orthopaedics. His clinical and research interests involve haemodynamics and vascular injury, manipulative therapy, and clinical reasoning in manual therapy. Roger lecturers widely in the area of haemondynamics and is a regular presenter at seminars and conferences on this subject. He has numerous publications concerning various areas of physiotherapy practice.
